Registration and administration of Fringe participants which includes aspects such as financial, media, scheduling and publication details. Scheduling of Fringe Festival. Disciplines catered for include; Cabaret, Dance, Drama, Film, Music, Music-Theatre and Visual Art. There are up to 300 events doing � 2000 performances. I came upon this position when I was studying at Rhodes University in 1989. I had left industry and set about reading a B Sc majoring in Computer Science and Psychology. During the mid-year break I worked for the festival running the technical aspects of venues. I had been to the festival many times as a visitor but never experienced it from behind the scenes, I was hooked! When my current position was advertised toward the end of 1989 I applied and was successful. I dropped my studies and took the position from the following year. My work experience prior to 1989 was in industry although I had always had an active interest in the arts; over the years I had played in many bands and been involved in the staging of theatre and musical productions.
